Step by step usage

  1. Examine the example and prepare the blank file

Open a single line for each parcel-product-season combination. If harvesting is repeated during the season, update the cumulative kilogram in the same row; Do not re-add the field with each rollup. Area is in decares, weight is in kilograms. If no salable product has yet been reserved, do not use the record as a final result until the measurement is completed. Use the yellow input fields on the tracking page; Do not change the blue formula fields. The sample sheet is filled with fictitious records and does not count towards the actual work total.

  2. Write actual records in the yellow fields

Yield is found as total harvest / cultivated decare. The amount set aside is the total harvest minus salable product. Salable ratio is salable/total harvest. The overall yield is total kg / total decare; It is not the average of the row rates. Zero harvest is possible, in which case the salable rate remains empty. The salable quantity cannot exceed the harvest. An empty mandatory field is distinguished from a real zero. Correct missing or incorrect records in the control column; Since these lines are excluded from the summary, do not use the total as a final report until the problem is resolved.

  3. Fix control alerts and review summary

Compare parcels of the same product. Examine the causes of sorting loss.

Calculation and control logic

Yield is found as total harvest / cultivated decare. The amount set aside is the total harvest minus salable product. Salable ratio is salable/total harvest. The overall yield is total kg / total decare; It is not the average of the row rates. Zero harvest is possible, in which case the salable rate remains empty. Correct missing or incorrect records in the control column; Since these lines are excluded from the summary, do not use the total as a final report until the problem is resolved.

Worked example: Agriculture harvest and yield tracking: calculation example

10 decare parcel. Total harvest of 8,000 kg. 7,200 kg of salable product. Result: 800 kg/decare yield, 800 kg separated product and 90% salable rate is calculated.

Decisions that can be taken as a result of this

Compare parcels of the same product. Examine the causes of sorting loss

Common usage mistakes

Counting the area again at each harvest batch. Entering a hectare into a decare area without conversion. Using the summary total as the final result without correcting the lines with control warnings

Limits and proper use

It is not a recommendation for agricultural practice, spraying, safety or expected yield. Do not compare different products with one overall efficiency; Use separate files per product. It does not calculate sales revenue and costs. The file is prepared for 150 record lines. The parent summary includes all valid rows, regardless of filters. When capacity is full, open a new period copy; additional rows require the summary and validation ranges to be updated as well. There are no macros, external data connections or automatic notifications.

Compatibility and quality control

Two pages of this file were visually inspected; Formulas were recalculated and checked in empty, sample and incorrect entry scenarios. There was no separate device testing of the Excel desktop application. .xlsx without macro; formulas and drop-down lists are included in the file. The tracking page includes 150 preset record lines and a standalone Sample page. Prepared for desktop Excel; Check views and validations in other spreadsheet applications.

Scope of this file

This independent file is prepared for agricultural harvest and yield tracking. It's not that Shiftmate automates this industry workflow; The application focuses on team, shift and timesheet management.

Frequently asked questions

What if harvesting is done several times in a season?

Cumulatively update the harvestable and salable quantity of the same row. Separately keep detailed daily weighing records.

How to enter 1 hectare?

It is entered as 10 decares. The area column is for decares only.

Why is the overall efficiency different?

It is weighted according to parcel areas. The kg/decare values of small and large parcels are simply not averaged.
