Step by step usage

  1. Prepare the file according to your business

Enter the opening cash for the first week from the actual bank and cash available balance. For the next 13 weeks, write down the collections, other inflows, supplier, personnel, rent-tax and other outflows in the expected week. You can create optimistic, basic, and cautious copies to avoid seeing certain and probable collections as the same amount.

  2. Run formulas and checks

Total inflows and outflows for each week are automatically calculated; Closing cash is opening plus inflows minus outflows. Starting from the second week, the opening cash is carried over from the previous week's closing. If the closing is below the minimum security amount you set, the line is marked as cash short. This approach makes the timing of payments visible, unlike profitability.

  3. Turn results into action

Review the indicators on the summary page. Prioritize the first open week. Run cautious scenario for uncertain collection. Move large one-time payments to the correct week.

Calculation and control logic

Total inflows and outflows for each week are automatically calculated; Closing cash is opening plus inflows minus outflows. Starting from the second week, the opening cash is carried over from the previous week's closing. If the closing is below the minimum security amount you set, the line is marked as cash short. This approach makes the timing of payments visible, unlike profitability.

Worked example: Seeing a cash shortfall before tax week

Opening cash: 125,000 TL. 13-week collection plan. Minimum cash: 75,000 TL. Result: In the third week, a warning occurs as the closing drops to 70,000 TL. The manager gains time to accelerate the collection date, reschedule supplier payment or consider a secure financing option before the maturity date.

Decisions that can be taken as a result of this

Prioritize the first open week. Run cautious scenario for uncertain collection. Move large one-time payments to the correct week

Common usage mistakes

Mistaking invoice issuance for cash collection. Automatically adding credit limit as available cash. Manually crushing opening formulas after the first week

Limits and proper use

The file is a short-term management forecast; It is not a formal financial cash flow statement, credit suitability assessment or financial advice. Without weekly updates with actual bank transactions, the forecast can quickly become outdated.

Frequently asked questions

Why is it used for 13 weeks?

Allows to see approximately a quarter in weekly detail; It shows earlier the short-term payment difficulties hidden in the monthly budget.

How should it be written if the collection is not certain?

In a cautious scenario, use only the high probability part or create separate file copies for different possibilities. Keep the assumption in the statement.

Is it okay if the closing cash is not negative?

Not always. Separately determine the minimum security amount the business needs for payroll, critical supplies, and unexpected expenses.
