Step by step usage

  1. Enter actual period data

    Replace the sample values with your own business's data for the same date range and the same unit of measure.

  2. Read the result and assumptions together

    Shifts are sorted by employee and date. Recordings falling within the same time period, long shifts and short rest intervals are generated as separate alerts. Examine the result not just as a single number but for its sensitivity to change in inputs.

  3. Save the scenario and measure again

    Once you make a decision, write down the input and the date. Fix actual conflicts first. Check the date on shifts that go beyond midnight. Interpret the warning in conjunction with employee consent and company policy.

Calculation method

Worked example

Monday 14:00-22:00. Tuesday 06:00-14:00. Same employee. Result: Shifts do not overlap, but the break is 8 hours; The tool gives a plan re-review warning.
