Step by step usage

  1. Enter actual period data

Replace the sample values with your own business's data for the same date range and the same unit of measure.

  2. Read the result and assumptions together

Contribution per order is made from the monthly fixed cost, average addition and variable cost ratio. The monthly and daily breakeven number of orders is calculated by dividing the fixed expense by the contribution. Examine the result not just as a single number but for its sensitivity to change in inputs.

  3. Save the scenario and measure again

Once you make a decision, write down the input and the date. Separate costs as fixed/variable. Get the ticket average from the real data. Run optimistic and bad scenario.

What does this tool calculate?

Calculate the breakeven number of tables or orders from fixed cost, average charge and variable cost.

formula

Contribution = average contribution × (1 - variable cost rate); breakeven order = fixed expense / order contribution

Calculation method

Contribution per order is made from the monthly fixed cost, average addition and variable cost ratio. The monthly and daily breakeven number of orders is calculated by dividing the fixed expense by the contribution.

Worked example

Fixed expense: 450,000 TL. Average ticket: 650 TL. Variable cost: 38%. 30 open days. Result: Order contribution is 403 TL, monthly requirement is approximately 1,117 and daily breakeven is approximately 38 orders.

How should the result be interpreted?

Separate costs as fixed/variable. Get the ticket average from the real data. Run optimistic and bad scenario

Common usage mistakes

Mistaking turnover for contribution. Using tax and channel definition inconsistently. Assuming a single month's unusual average as permanent

Limits of the model

It is a simplified cost-volume model; It does not fully reflect product mix, capacity constraints, taxes and cash flow.

Is your data safe?

Calculation and file analysis runs in your browser. The operation files you upload are not sent to a server by this tool.

Frequently asked questions

Is every order a profit after the breakeven order?

The model assumes average contribution per order; If the product mix and additional costs change, the actual result will differ.

Is personnel cost fixed or variable?

It can be divided into two depending on the contract and shift structure of your business; Specify the classification you use in the script notes.
