Step by step usage
Enter actual period data
Replace the sample values with your own business's data for the same date range and the same unit of measure.
Read the result and assumptions together
For each interval, the predicted and actual volume are compared. WAPE weights total volume; MAPE is sensitive at low or no volume because it weights each interval equally. Examine the result not just as a single number but for its sensitivity to change in inputs.
Save the scenario and measure again
Once you make a decision, write down the input and the date. Use MAPE with caution during the zero-volume interval. Distinguish between total accuracy and peak hour accuracy. Constantly monitor the direction of overestimation or underestimation.
What does this tool calculate?
Calculate MAPE, WAPE and deviation direction from forecast and actual call volumes.
formula
WAPE = total |actual - forecast| / total real × 100; MAPE = mean(|actual - prediction| / actual) × 100
Calculation method
For each interval, the predicted and actual volume are compared. WAPE weights total volume; MAPE is sensitive at low or no volume because it weights each interval equally.
Worked example
Predictions: 100, 120, 80. Actual: 110, 100, 90. Result: Since the absolute error total is 40 and the actual total is 300, WAPE is 13.3%; The deviation direction is also seen on an interval basis.
How should the result be interpreted?
Use MAPE with caution during the zero-volume interval. Distinguish between total accuracy and peak hour accuracy. Follow the direction of constant overestimation or underestimation
Common usage mistakes
Accuracy = 100 - Considering the MAPE result to be safe in all cases. Mixing different interval lengths. Comparing campaign or blackout days with normal days
Limits of the model
No single error metric fully explains forecast quality; Evaluate with bias, peak hours and operation cost.
Is your data safe?
Calculation and file analysis runs in your browser. The operation files you upload are not sent to a server by this tool.

Frequently asked questions
Should I use MAPE or WAPE?
If there are many low-volume intervals, WAPE may be more stable; watch the two together with the bias and peak error view.
What happens to MAPE when there are zero calls?
Since the denominator is zero, it is undefined; mark this row separately or use a total weighted metric like WAPE.
