How to ensure fair distribution in the shift plan?

Shift scheduling recommendations to distribute closing, weekend, rush hour and total working hours more equitably.

Fair shift distribution does not mean that everyone works equal hours. The burden of difficult shifts, weekends and closings must be evenly distributed.

Track difficult shifts separately

Closing, weekend and rush hour shifts are perceived differently than regular shifts. Following these separately increases the sense of justice.

See shift type as well as total hours

Two employees may have the same total hours, but if one is constantly taking the closeout, the distribution doesn't feel fair.

Don't ignore preferences completely

Incorporating employee preferences into the plan whenever possible increases engagement. However, branch coverage should remain a priority.

Summary

Fair planning is powered by visible shift and hour data, not the manager's intuition.
