How to deduct a break from the timesheet?

Calculating the net paid time by subtracting the break minute from the entry-exit time, night shift and control examples.

Net time in scoring is calculated by subtracting the recorded break minutes from the gross time between entry and exit. The problem is not so much the formula, but that the timeout recording is incomplete or non-standard.

Calculate gross time correctly

It is nine hours from 09:00 to 18:00. For shifts exceeding midnight, it should also be taken into account that the end date is the next day.

Keep break minutes in a single format

For 30 minutes, do not mix the values 0.5 hour and 30 minutes in the same column. Using minutes is more understandable for field entry and control.

Separate planned from actual

The plan in the break schedule is not the actual record in the timesheet. If there is a deviation, correction should be made with a manager's note and employee confirmation.

Summary

The break formula is simple; Regular recording of break start-end or total minutes is required for reliable results.
