How to establish shift standards in multi-branch businesses?

Guide to standardizing shift roles, timesheet format and manager rhythm in businesses with more than one branch.

In multi-branch businesses, the problem is often not that each branch is poorly managed, but that each branch uses different methods.

Standardize role names

Writing “barista” in one branch and “coffee maker” in another makes reporting difficult. Establish a common role dictionary.

Keep scoring columns the same

If a different timesheet format comes to accounting from each branch, the control burden increases. Set a single CSV standard.

Synchronize branch manager rhythm

Plan publication day, leave collection day and timesheet closing day should be similar in all branches.

Summary

In multi-branch growth, the standard operating language is the foundation that must be established before the software.
